Merry Meet to all that have taken the time to get to know us. Please allow me to tell you a little about our Temple. The American Ring of Wisdom (AROW) Temple was founded in 2002 as an incorporated, non-profit 501(c)3. We began the concept of assisting our brothers and sisters who were incarcerated within the system yet wanted to learn and study the craft. Since that time though it has grown to include those on the outside world (non-incarcerated). The founding body saw that there was a need for this type of organization, yet most would not raise a finger to assist anyone that was in the prison system regardless of where or why they were there.
We started with 35 original members after our founding. Within the first year our membership had grown to around 500 members, then within three years it had grown to around 5000 members. By the year 2010, eight short years later we had covens, associated covens, wiccan/pagan communities in many units of the prison system across the United States, in the U.S. Military, Australia, England, Ireland, and Scottland. As a part of our founding Bylaws, we have never charged our members any type of dues to be a part of the Temple. We have operated soley on those donations that we receive. Our membership grows and shrinks just as any religious organization does.
AROW Temple has always looked to the future to see what is needed. We are constantly growing and evolving in our lessons. Our members write most of the stuff that we use to create new lesson sets that cover various craft topics. We are now looking to the next step which will be an outreach program that will include a shelter for our brothers and sisters being released without any place to go. We hope to be able to create a place that will house about forty people to begin with. There are many programs that we would love to begin in time. And just maybe with the lady and lords blessings we will get them up and going. We very strongly believe that the Goddess and God teaches “A hand up not a handout!” As they are willing to help us and guide us, not do for us. We have to put in the work. We do not Judge people for what they have done, we only care about who the are and where they are going. It is for this reason that I say today:
“Lead, Follow, or get out of the way,
For the craft of the wise is coming into the light of day!”
With this said I will leave you with one final thought;
“BY THE WICCAN REDE YOU MUST,
IN PERFICT LOVE AND PERFECT TRUST.
EIGHT WORDS THE REDE FULFILL,
AND YOU HARM NONE-DO AS YOU WILL.
LEAST IN SELF DEFENCE IT BE,
EVERMIND THE RULE OF THREE,
WHAT YOU SEND OUT RETURNS TO THEE.
REMEMBER THIS WITH MIND AND HEART,
MERRY WE MEET AND MERRY WE PART.”
BLESSED BE!
